  3. I'm so impressed with your blog and all the tatting that you've shown on it.

It is amazing to me that you actually learned how to tat from Mary Sue Kuhn, who was responsible for realizing the potential of the split ring. And you learned the split ring from her also! I wasn't aware of the split ring until I bought Teri Dusenbury's 'Tatted Hearts' book around 1994, but Teri always gives Mary Sue the full credit she deserves for bringing the technique (shown only briefly in 1928, but not really explored) into the modern tatting era.

I'd like to know more about your full tatting history and how you decided to start your blog!

  4. Thanks Kathy. I am always checking your site. You are the one with the Shoes that everyone wants the pattern for including me.
I was bored and looking for something new to do so I checked to see what was being taught at the night class. An tatting caught my eye and so deiced to give it a try. I also had no idea what it really was. Also I was watching two of my grand children and need something to do while they were here that I could put down and pick up again and not lose where I was at.
Mary Sue was an excellent teacher and had a lot of patience with everyone. I did get the flip after I got home that night. I also took her split ring class. A lot of us use to meet once a month until Mary Sue got ill. I always think of here every time some one come up with something new, and wonder what she would have done with it. Mary Sue always had a booth at the Iowa State Fair and I would always stop by to see what she had for sale and them go and see what she had entered that year at the fair.
Some one said I should start one not sure why. I still have a very hard time remembering how to put things on where I want them. The side bar really gives me a fit when I try to put something there for one of the giveaways. So I guess that is about all there is to tell.
