Flower and Vines Quilt

I was going to post a picture of the Flower and Vines  quilt I won from Palmetto Tat Days. Just wanted to think everyone who tatted something for it. I love it! Thanks

Also was going to post a picture of some beads I ordered from China
It is not the bead that was interesting it is how much the traveled around

Two town in Illinois left there
came to Des Moines where I live
now you would think they would have been delivered
left here went to Oklahoma, Texas
back to Des Moines then left went to New Mexico
then back here and I finely got them.
I did call the post office to see what was going on
and not sure if they ever figured it out either.

Baubles Bugs and Blossoms

 

Hard to believe  it has been almost two years scents I have posted anything.

I have been tatting just have had a lot of yard work to get done. Had to have the last part of the driveway done and just finished cleaning up around it now need to add some more dirt along the edges.

Here are most of the Baubles, Bugs  and Blossoms I did from The Shuttle Brothers book. I know I will do some of then again. Now if they would just do another book to keep me busy  this winter. I do have a lot of tatting books sometimes I just need a change for something different.

      

 I had just the mice laid out to take a picture then I picked up my great grandson from school and when I came in later to take a picture he had  got the others out and rearranged  them all again.

So just took the picture as it was or I would of never  gotten it done. He also decided he want the bee and wooly worm.

The story behind the black one is when I went to pull weed out of the flower beds this spring I have a Gnome  in one when I picked it up a black mouse had been using it for a place to live. It is now on the concrete and going to stay there.

  No time to post for a while. Now that fall is here outside work is slowing down. Had to scrap and paint windows and I have a lot of them only about 32. Plus the yard work and still have a ton to get done outside. Then I will start on the inside but I am going to take it one room at a time. Do get to tat a little in the morning while waiting on my Great Grandson to get here so I can fix him breakfast and take him to school by 8 each morning.

Now Thanksgiving is this week and have that to get ready for and do all of the cooking. House will be full again this year.  Hope I will have more time to post some tatting before to long.

I have been trying to post all week. Painters came to paint the eves, then my brother came through taking a load to Salt Lake. He drives a semi and when not doing that he hangs iron.  He lives in Idaho on top of a mountain.
 So here is part of what I have tatted.  Hope to post more often.

Here is my TIAS love Jane goat.

Here is Jane's Tree and one of her hearts. I love Victats rose pattern, they work up so easy.

Now for the weather, strange winter we have had. I went out to walk the dog a couple of days ago and the flower pot by the front steps had a pansy blooming in it. These were planted last spring. Didn't clean out the flower pots because I am going to empty them and put in new soil. So they have lived though snow, freezing temp, ice and freezing rain.

I do have other tatting but it needs to be blocked which I am going to go and do after this.

Peaches one of my cats is not real happy right now I took down the

Christmas Tree. She gave me this look like what are you doing with

my tree. Had to take it down they are putting in more insulation in the attic

tomorrow and it was going to be in the way.

Look what I got in the mail Saturday my Lizbeth thread I won for my Blue Ice. Now I need to fine more time to tat. I love all of the new colors.

This is Dlinga from Jon Yusoff book of Elegant Tatting Gems. For some reason this one drove me crazy when I got to the last. I know how it should go but took me forever to get it right. Still have not had time to tuck in the ends yet. I this one is done with one of Yarnplayers hand dyed threads.

These are Linda S. Davies Bluebell's . I did tat the leaves but I think the one cat took off with them so I half to tat them over again.

The butterfly's are from More Critters on the Block by Martha Ess. The half one I did so I could empty my shuttles, but I like the way it turned out.

I know it has been a while, but have been trying to get all the outside work done and everything sealed up before winter gets here.

What have I been doing.

Look what came in the mail yesterday. Three workbasket from Teresa Fox and I won one of Diane Shuttles. Thanks two both I love them. I have been tatting but it all needs to be blocked and on some the ends need worked in.

I am still around. First there was getting everything put just in my name. That is after I got my self alive again. They had me dead instead of him. So they canceled my SS, my insurance ect. Which I had to make a trip to the SS office to get myself back to the living.

I have been trying to catch up on the last two and a half years work. I have been painting, had the rest of the drive replaced, and then there is all of the little repairs that had to be done. I do most of them. Also have cleaned and caulked a dozen windows and still have at least three more to do.

Then there is all of the yard work. I have been pulling weed everyday when it is not to hot to be out or raining. I have more then one flower bed, One is very large, today it is in the 90 with a heat index of 100. And it is going to be hotter then that for almost all of next week.

I have also put in about 30 years of genealogy. Which was started before all of us had computers. Think of a stack of papers about three and a half feet tall. I only have a few pages left to do. All of it goes in the recycle ben. Enough of that.

I am going to try and post more often.

Look What I Found

I was cleaning out a some old things that had belonged to my husband mother that I just put away and never got back too. When I put this away I never even looked into it till the other day. I figured it had old letter or card that belonged his his grandmother. Look at what was in the box.

A tatting book and two shuttles which had to belong to his grandmother because his mother did any kind of craft at all.

Then there are some patterns that she had cut out .

Good News for A Change

The funeral was today but we also got a new Great Granddaughter today Jaden Beth Ann Bennett. Going to go and do some tatting.

Up Date on DH.

Stan passed away on Aug. 11, 2010. I half to look at it as a blessing. He was so sick and it was time to go. He will be miss but he is also in a better place. I am hoping to get back to some kind on normal around here.

At last up and running

I can finnely get to my blog. I haven't done much tatting. I have been working on taking up the tile in the bathroom, I am just about done and then I think I will paint and then I can get back to doing some tatting. Hope everyone is had a great weekend
